Real Wedding: Tommy and Joe (A sneak peek)
We are still waiting on getting all the pictures from Tommy and Joe’s wedding at the Lodge at Little Seneca Creek from earlier this month. But we wanted to share a sneak peek with you. Tommy and Joe were one of our favorite couples to work with. Their love and commitment to each other was so strong and present that there was not a dry eye during their ceremony, including our own. We’ll give you a full run down of all the vendors and DIY details (and there were a TON) when we get all the pictures back, but for now, enjoy a few of our favorites.
All photos taken by the very talented and super sweet Natalie Franke.
Real Weddings: Shauna and John
You may remember Shauna and John from their beautiful engagement photos we posted a few months ago. Their wedding last month at DAR was one of those truly wonderful weddings where everyone there can just feel how in love and happy the couple is. Aren’t those the best kind of weddings? They make us remember why we love weddings so much in the first place. Their love and happiness was perfectly captured by the very talented Punam Bean. Punam’s second shooter was Krystle Correll, friend of e&k events. It was great to finally meet her in real life! Check out the serious eye candy below:
You wouldn’t believe how much work we did to set up these next two photos. But I think the sore backs and burnt fingers were totally worth it because these are the most swoon worthy photos I’ve ever seen!
Congratulations Shauna and John! We loved being a part of your special day!
Vendors:
Caterer: Occasions
Ceremony: St. Patrick Catholic Church
Reception: Daughters of the American Revolution
Florist: Growing Wild Floral Company

8.5 x 11″ 80lb white text paper (like this from Paper-Source)
Color Printer
Paper Cutter
Double Sided Tape
Ruler
Standard Hole Punch
Sparklers
Straws
Matchbooks (found at my local grocery store)
Instructions:
1. Download the Matchbook and Straw Tags Template and print onto white text paper. Download the Sparkler Card Template and print onto white card stock. Print using the highest quality settings on your color printer to ensure that the patterns and text are clear.
2. Trim out all the shapes using scissors or a sharp blade and making sure to trim off all the black edges. Use a standard hole punch and punch where indicated to allow the straws to be thread through. Carefully trim out the small rectangles in the Sparkler Holders to weave the sparklers through.
3. Secure the wrap around the matchbooks with double sided tape, making sure not to cover up the striker strip. Crease the edges with your fingers or using a bone folder so that they are crisp. Thread the straw through the holes and position towards the top of the straw. Thread the sparklers through the slots.

1 Year Ago on Sunday…
I got married! June 20th, 2009 was a magical day filled with amazing memories. I can’t belive a year has gone by! As I write this post, I am looking back at some of our candid wedding shots and wow did we have a good time! If I can give one piece of advice for your wedding day, and I know it sounds cliche, enjoy every minute of it. Smile, laugh and dance your heart out.
Ok, enough of the sappy stuff…the real point of this post is to provide some 1 year anniversary ideas. I was at first very stressed about coming up with the ‘perfect’ gift, but once I took the pressure off of myself, I started to enjoy looking for clever present ideas. Some are sillier than others, but keep in mind that paper is the traditional gift for first anniversaries.
